Commercial drone services are aerial data and media captured by a licensed operator for a business purpose: construction progress documentation, orthomosaic site mapping and volumetrics, roof, solar and thermal inspections, commercial real estate marketing, industrial facility documentation, and advertising footage. Desert Drones LLC provides all of these from home markets in Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, Dallas, El Paso, Denver, and Albuquerque, and nationwide through its Part 107 pilot network.

Who we fly for

Built for the people who sign the PO

Every engagement is scoped around what your team has to produce next: a draw request, a listing, a maintenance plan, a claim, a campaign.

  • General contractors & developers — recurring progress documentation, site maps, and earthwork volumes that hold up in OAC meetings and pay applications.
  • Commercial real estate brokers & property managers — aerial packages for offering memorandums, lender decks, and listing platforms; roof and parking-lot condition records for the asset file.
  • Engineering & civil firms — topographic surveys, existing-condition orthomosaics, and point clouds in DXF and LAS, flown to your control.
  • Industrial, mining & utility operators — facility documentation, stockpile volumetrics, and repeatable inspections for compliance and reporting.
  • Insurance carriers & adjusters — multi-site claim canvasses and post-storm condition documentation with dated, georeferenced imagery.
  • Marketing teams & agencies — campaign stills and 4K video shot to a brief, delivered in every aspect ratio you need.

How it works

How a commercial engagement works

Most clients set us up once and let it run. Here is the path from first call to a standing schedule.

01

Scope call

Site address, what you need captured, how often, and who receives it. You get a flat quote on that call, with a lower per-visit rate on a standing schedule.

02

Airspace & paperwork

We pull LAANC authorization or file with the FAA for zero-altitude grids, and send a certificate of insurance before we mobilize. Your entity can be added as additional insured.

03

Flight

A Part 107 pilot flies a planned mission that is repeated on every visit. Most sites take under an hour on the ground, with crews working.

04

Processing & delivery

Edited stills and video, orthomosaics, volumetric reports, and 3D models within 48 hours through a shared link, DroneDeploy, or your own platform.

Deliverables

What you receive

Everything arrives in formats that drop into your existing workflow. Raw files are available on request.

  • High-resolution stills — 20 to 48 MP JPEG, RAW on request, organized by site and date.
  • 4K video — edited progress walkthroughs or campaign footage, plus raw clips.
  • Georeferenced orthomosaics — GeoTIFF site maps you can measure in, with ground sample distance documented.
  • Volumetric reports — cut/fill and stockpile volumes against a documented base plane, in PDF and CSV.
  • 3D models & point clouds — web-viewable models, OBJ, LAS, and DXF for engineering teams.
  • Inspection reports — annotated roof, solar, and thermal findings with radiometric data where required.
Pricing

How commercial drone work is priced

$300 – $650Commercial aerial photo and video package for a property, campus, or campaign

Why hire a pro

What separates a commercial operator from a drone hobbyist

  • Desert Drones is an FAA Part 107 certified drone company, the license the FAA requires to fly a drone for any business purpose.
  • Every job is covered by $1M commercial liability insurance, with a certificate of insurance on request and additional-insured endorsements when a contract requires them.
  • We hold LAANC authorizations for the controlled airspace around Sky Harbor, Harry Reid, Love Field, DFW, El Paso International, Denver International, and Albuquerque Sunport, and we file FAA waivers for zero-altitude grids.
  • Mapping flights use RTK-equipped aircraft and, when accuracy demands it, ground control points, so measurements are defensible.
  • Flight plans are saved and repeated, so a site documented in month one is comparable with month twelve.
  • Deliverables are processed and delivered within 48 hours, by a team that flies these markets every week rather than a crew flown in for the day.

Where we fly

Our own pilots cover Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico from these home markets. Outside them, we deploy vetted Part 107 pilots from our network under the same capture standard, coordinated by one point of contact.

FAQ

Commercial drone services: questions buyers ask

Can you provide a certificate of insurance and name us as additional insured?

Yes. We carry $1M commercial liability coverage. A certificate of insurance is sent on request before the first flight, and your entity can be added as additional insured when a contract requires it.

Can you fly over an active jobsite or an occupied property?

Yes. Most of our commercial flights are over active sites with crews working or occupied commercial properties. We plan flight paths and timing to stay clear of personnel, equipment, and cranes, and we coordinate with your superintendent or property manager on the day.

What about airspace near airports?

Phoenix Sky Harbor, Las Vegas Harry Reid, Dallas Love Field, and most of our markets have controlled airspace. We pull LAANC authorization for sites under the facility map ceilings and file with the FAA for zero-altitude grids, which takes longer, so tell us early.

How fast are deliverables?

Standard turnaround is 48 hours from the flight. Progress photo sets are often same day. Orthomosaics, volumetrics, and 3D models depend on site size and are usually within two business days.

How is commercial drone work priced?

Per flight, as a flat number based on site size and deliverables. Recurring schedules get a lower per-visit rate because repeat sites are faster to fly and process. Mapping and volumetrics are quoted separately from photo and video.

Do you cover projects outside your home markets?

Yes. Our own team covers Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Outside those states we deploy vetted Part 107 pilots from our network, with the same capture standard and one point of contact for the whole portfolio.

What formats do you deliver?

High-resolution JPEG and RAW stills, 4K video, GeoTIFF orthomosaics, DXF and LAS for engineering teams, PDF volumetric reports, and web-viewable 3D models. Files are delivered through a shared link or directly into DroneDeploy or your own platform.

Are drone photos and maps admissible for pay applications and claims?

Our orthomosaics and volumetric reports are produced from georeferenced flights with documented ground sample distance and, where required, RTK positioning and ground control. They are routinely used for pay-app support, dispute resolution, and insurance claim documentation.

Do you handle multi-site portfolios?

Yes. One coordinator schedules every site, the same flight plan is repeated at each visit, and deliverables are organized by site and date so a regional manager can compare properties side by side.

What is the difference between commercial drone services and a drone photographer?

A drone photographer sells images. A commercial drone services company is contracted for a business outcome: a dated progress record, a measurable site map, an inspection report, or campaign footage delivered to spec, with Part 107 licensing, insurance, and airspace authorization handled as part of the job.
