Booking & Pricing

How do I book a drone service?

The easiest way to book is to fill out our contact form at desertdronesllc.com/contact-us/ or call us directly. We'll gather details about your project — location, scope, timeline, and deliverables — and provide a custom quote. Most quotes are turned around within one business day. Once approved, we'll schedule your flight, handle all airspace authorizations, and confirm logistics before your shoot date.

How quickly can you complete a project?

Standard turnaround for edited aerial photos and video is 48–72 hours after the flight date. Rush delivery is available for time-sensitive projects. For construction documentation, deliverables are typically provided within 24–48 hours so your team can move forward with planning. Large mapping and photogrammetric survey projects may require additional processing time depending on acreage and output format. We'll confirm your specific timeline at the time of booking.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on the type of service, project scope, location, flight duration, number of deliverables, and editing requirements. Real estate packages are typically priced per property. Construction documentation is often priced per visit or on a recurring contract. Thermal inspections and mapping surveys are priced by acreage or complexity. We offer competitive rates and custom packages for recurring clients and multi-location projects. Contact us for a free quote tailored to your specific project.

Do you offer ongoing or recurring contracts?

Yes. Many of our construction, real estate, and industrial clients work with us on a recurring basis — weekly, monthly, or per-phase documentation schedules. Recurring clients receive priority scheduling and preferred pricing. If your business has ongoing aerial documentation needs, we can build a custom service agreement that covers regular visits, consistent deliverable formats, and predictable billing. This is especially popular with general contractors and property management companies.

Real Estate Aerial Photography

How does aerial drone photography help sell real estate?

Aerial drone photography gives buyers a complete picture of a property — its lot size, relationship to neighbors, proximity to amenities, landscaping, and surroundings — that ground-level photos simply cannot provide. Listings with professional aerial imagery receive significantly more online views and inquiries than those without. For luxury properties, land parcels, commercial buildings, and large residential estates, aerial photography is considered essential for competitive marketing. Desert Drones LLC delivers web-ready and print-ready images within 48–72 hours of your shoot.

What file formats do you deliver for real estate?

All aerial photos are delivered pre-sized and optimized for MLS upload — no resizing needed before listing. We provide high-resolution JPEGs formatted to MLS standards, along with web-ready and print-ready versions, all included in the same delivery. Video deliverables are MP4 files in 4K or 1080p resolution. All files arrive via a download link or shared cloud folder, typically within 24–48 hours of your shoot. If your MLS or marketing platform has specific file size limits, naming conventions, or color profile requirements, we can export to match. RAW files are available upon request.

Construction Documentation

How can drones benefit a construction project?

Drone services provide construction teams with a powerful set of visual and data tools that improve project management, safety, and communication. Aerial photography documents site conditions before, during, and after construction. Orthomosaic mapping produces accurate 2D site maps for planning and progress tracking. Photogrammetric surveys generate 3D models and volume calculations for earthwork and stockpile management. Video flyovers are used for stakeholder updates, marketing, and documentation of project milestones. Desert Drones LLC works with general contractors, developers, and project owners throughout the Southwest.

What is orthomosaic mapping and do you offer it?

Orthomosaic mapping is the process of combining hundreds of overlapping aerial photos into a single, geometrically accurate top-down map. Unlike a regular aerial photo, an orthomosaic is to scale and can be measured — meaning you can calculate distances, areas, and volumes directly from the image. Desert Drones LLC captures orthomosaic maps for construction sites, land development projects, mining operations, and agricultural surveys. Outputs are delivered as GeoTIFF or standard image files and can be imported into CAD, GIS, or project management platforms.

Can you fly on active construction sites?

Yes. Our pilots are experienced operating on active commercial and residential construction sites. We coordinate with your site supervisor before every flight to ensure worker safety and minimal disruption to operations. All flights follow FAA Part 107 regulations and applicable OSHA awareness standards. We carry $2,000,000 in liability insurance and can provide a COI naming your GC or owner as an additional insured. We've worked on projects ranging from single-family subdivisions to large commercial and industrial construction sites across the Southwest.

Thermal Imaging & Inspection

What is thermal drone imaging used for?

Thermal drone imaging uses infrared cameras to detect heat signatures invisible to the naked eye. Commercial applications include roof leak detection (wet insulation retains heat differently than dry material), solar panel inspection (defective cells show thermal anomalies), electrical infrastructure inspection (hot spots in panels or wiring), HVAC efficiency assessment, and building envelope analysis for energy audits. Desert Drones LLC provides thermal inspections for commercial roofing companies, solar developers, property managers, and industrial facilities across Arizona and the broader Southwest.

Can drones detect roof leaks?

Yes — thermal drone imaging is one of the most efficient methods for detecting roof leaks on commercial and industrial buildings. Wet insulation beneath a roof membrane retains solar heat longer than dry material. When captured via thermal camera after sunset or before sunrise — when the roof is cooling — wet areas appear as warm anomalies against the cooler dry sections. This allows inspectors to pinpoint leak locations without destructive testing across large roof areas. Desert Drones LLC provides thermal roof inspection reports with annotated imagery identifying suspect areas for your roofing contractor.

Do you inspect solar panels with drones?

Yes. Thermal drone inspection is the industry standard for large-scale solar panel evaluation. Defective cells, bypassed strings, and soiling issues all produce distinct thermal signatures that are easily identified from the air. A drone can inspect hundreds of panels per hour — far faster and safer than manual ground inspection. Desert Drones LLC provides solar inspection services for commercial rooftop arrays, ground-mount systems, and utility-scale solar farms. Deliverables include annotated thermal images identifying anomalies by panel location, row, and string for your maintenance team.

Technical & Regulatory

Can you fly in controlled airspace?

Yes. Desert Drones LLC pilots are authorized to operate in controlled airspace through the FAA's LAANC (Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability) system, which provides near-instant airspace authorizations for flights near airports and in Class B, C, D, and E airspace. For operations that require a formal waiver beyond LAANC limits, we work directly with the FAA to obtain the necessary authorization before any flight. We never fly in controlled airspace without proper authorization — compliance and safety are non-negotiable on every project.

What happens if weather prevents the flight?

Safety is our top priority, and we do not fly in unsafe weather conditions including high winds, rain, lightning, or poor visibility. If weather prevents a scheduled flight, we will reschedule at no additional charge as soon as conditions allow. For time-sensitive projects, we monitor forecasts closely and will communicate proactively if conditions look questionable. We never charge a cancellation fee for weather-related postponements — your project will always be completed as planned.

What drones and cameras do you use?

Desert Drones LLC operates professional-grade DJI commercial platforms including the Mavic 3 Enterprise series and Matrice enterprise drones depending on the project requirements. Our cameras deliver 4K and higher resolution video and high-megapixel still imagery. For thermal work, we use calibrated infrared sensors. For mapping and survey, we use drones with RTK (real-time kinematic) GPS positioning for centimeter-level accuracy. Our equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to ensure every flight delivers reliable, professional results.

Do you provide a written contract or agreement?

Yes. All Desert Drones LLC projects include a written service agreement that outlines the scope of work, deliverables, timeline, pricing, and terms. For recurring clients and larger commercial engagements, we provide a master service agreement. We believe in clear expectations on both sides — no surprises on scope, pricing, or deliverables. If your project requires specific contractual language, liability provisions, or compliance with a vendor management program, our team can work with your requirements.
